Stage 5 Theatre's mission is to educate and enhance the quality of life in our community using the medium of theater. We will bring quality theatrical events, choral presentations, musical productions as well as productions from new writers,directors and actors into the medium of theatre. We will present the best possible theatre from new, and previously non produced works that are available from all sources.

Stage 5 Recently (July 24, 2012) moved into our new Theatre Venue located at 947 S. Stadium Rd., Stadium Park, Columbia, SC.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio. Michael has been associated with The Theatre Project, Positive Vision Theatre, a HIV/AIDS educational theatre company. He holds a MFA from the Professional Director's Training Program at Ohio University. He has directed over 150 play and is the recipient of various LOTB and OCTA awards for Outstanding Excellence in Direction. Michael was the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of The Theatre Project and was also Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Positive Vision Theatre. He also has script development and direction on some forty productions. He served as The Theatre Project's Managing Director for two years.
Dr. Chavers is originally from Louisiana and is a highly decorated Retired United States Air Force Officer living in South Carolina. Dr. Chavers has extensive experience with USO tours and projects while on active duty as the Operations Officer for Morale, Welfare, and Recreations Command. Dr. Chavers has degrees, from the University of Nebraska (BS), MBA from Midwestern University, and a PhD from Columbia Pacific University. His extensive and diversified skills ;and strong accomplishments in projects from creation to completion in the US Air Force and civilian life makes him ideally suited for this important position.

Then we started painting the walls and adding Teaser curtains.
The stage was completed in time for God of Carnage opening on August 24, 2012
Audiences sat in chairs on the floor to begin with
After Elephan Man Closed we started the Raiser Project
and the Chairs were added in Dec 2012
There appears to be "The Best Seats in the House" locations all over the place.
We added the Marque and Box Office Signs in time for "The Elephant Man"
What is next......?
for one thing theatre floors were finished and you need to check them out.
Sound system is coming and Central Heat and Air when money is available for those.
